From Dictionary.com

au·then·tic [aw-then-tik]

–adjective

1.	not false or copied; genuine; real: an authentic antique.

2.	having the origin supported by unquestionable evidence; authenticated; verified: an authentic document of the Middle Ages; an authentic work of the old master.

entitled to acceptance or belief because of agreement with known facts or experience; reliable; trustworthy: an authentic report on poverty in Africa.

Susan Skjei has also emphasized the importance of being in touch with the world around us -- perhaps this can be thought of as 'synchronizing' with others and the situation. This is in contrast to a common idea that being authentic is about "speaking my truth" in an isolated context.

Dictionary.com from etymology -- Authentic implies that the contents of the thing in question correspond to the facts and are not fictitious;

Perhaps we are talking synchronzing our body and mind -- and that this help us percieve things as they are and therefore -- our view of the situation has greater chance of 'corresponding to the facts.'

I think there is more to this related to embodiment and with the idea of resonance, but I will leave that to others to explore...

MA in Authentic Leadership: Thesis Paper

Hi everyone!

This fall (September 2007), I will be writing my thesis on Authentic Leadership for my MA at Naropa. I hope to communicate with this group in order to develop my work, so please feel free to comment and create with me!

My first task will be to scope what I want to write about. My real desire is to compile my learnings in a concise format, as well as create an easy to access "toolbox" that I can dip into in the future.

Question 1: If you were reading a thesis on Authentic Leadership, what would you expect to see?

Question 2: If you were sending your program manager to school for Authentic Leadership, what would you expect her to come back to the office with?
